Colomesus asellus, the Amazon puffer, is a fully-freshwater puffer prized for being 'community' puffers that can be kept with mid- to large-sized, robust fishes. These highly intelligent and personable fish are also known for their adorable faces! Bear in mind that they will still be nippy fish, and delicate, long-finned, or smaller tankmates should be avoided, as should all invertebrates. Otherwise, their care is similar to most puffers; offer hard shelled foods semi-regularly to wear down their teeth, and avoid exposing them to air so they don't fill up with air and have trouble deflating.
These are young adults around 2-3" long.
